22화 본사에서 온 사람

12월 셋째 주, 본사에서 사람이 내려왔다.

"전략기획팀 하윤 차장님이세요. 이번 확장 건 검토차 2주간 상주하실 거예요."

단정한 인상이었다. 인사를 나누는 태도가 지안과는 또 달랐다. 지안이 웃으면서 날을 세우는 쪽이라면, 하윤은 웃지 않으면서도 편안한 쪽이었다.

그리고 은호는 그날 처음 봤다.

태경이 편하게 웃는 얼굴을.

"오랜만이에요, 하윤 씨."

"응, 오랜만." 하윤이 태경의 책상 위 서류를 흘낏 보더니 말했다. "너 아직도 이렇게 정리하네."

"…버릇이라서요."

"알아. 옛날부터 그랬잖아."

은호는 자기가 왜 그 세 글자에 걸렸는지 몰랐다. 그냥 회의 자료를 정리하는데 손이 조금 느려졌을 뿐이다.

"This is Ms. Ha from Strategic Planning. She'll be on site for two weeks reviewing the expansion."

She had a composed presence. The way she greeted people was different from Ms. Kang — if Ms. Kang smiled while keeping an edge, Ms. Ha was at ease without smiling much at all.

And that day, Eunho saw something for the first time.

Taekyung smiling comfortably.

"It's been a while, Hayoon."

"It has." She glanced at the documents on his desk. "You still organize them like that."

"…Habit."

"I know. You always did."

Eunho didn't know why those words caught on him. He just noticed that his hands moved a little slower as he sorted the meeting materials.
