31화 검토가 끝나고

하윤의 검토 마지막 날이었다.

퇴근 무렵, 하윤이 은호에게 왔다.

"은호 씨. 저 내일 올라가요."

"아, 벌써요."

"2주 금방이더라고요." 하윤이 잠깐 말을 골랐다. "그리고 저번에 자료실에서 한 말요."

은호가 고개를 들었다.

"제가 실수했어요." 하윤이 담담하게 말했다. "그 사람이 말 안 한 걸 제가 흘린 거니까."

"…아니에요."

"아니긴요." 하윤이 웃었다. 조금 씁쓸한 웃음이었다. "근데 하나만 말할게요. 이건 제 얘기니까 해도 되는 거고."

"네."

"저는 3년 전에, 저 사람한테 아무것도 못 물어봤어요. 그때 물어봐야 했는데."

은호는 뭐라고 답해야 할지 몰랐다.

"은호 씨는 물어보세요." 하윤이 가방을 들며 말했다. "지금 말고, 저 사람이 준비됐을 때."

그러곤 덧붙였다. "그게 언젠지는 은호 씨가 저보다 잘 알 것 같아서요."

It was the last day of Ms. Ha's review.

Near the end of the day, she came over to Eunho.

"Eunho. I'm heading back tomorrow."

"Already."

"Two weeks went fast." She chose her words for a moment. "About what I said in the archive room."

Eunho looked up.

"That was a mistake on my part," she said evenly. "I let slip something he hadn't said himself."

"…It's fine."

"It isn't." She smiled — a little bitterly. "But let me say one thing. This part is mine to tell."

"All right."

"Three years ago, I never asked him anything. I should have."

Eunho didn't know how to answer.

"You should ask." She picked up her bag. "Not now. When he's ready."

Then she added, "And I think you'll know when that is better than I would."
