35화 거리

거리는 눈에 보이지 않게, 그러나 분명하게 벌어졌다.

태경은 더 이상 야근을 함께하자고 하지 않았다. 회의에서도 필요한 말만 짧게 주고받았다. 점심도 따로 먹는 날이 늘었다.

은호는 처음엔 그저 프로젝트가 막바지라 바빠서 그런 줄 알았다. 하지만 일주일이 지나도 그 거리는 좁혀지지 않았다.

*내가 뭘 잘못했나.*

그런데 아무리 되짚어봐도 짚이는 게 없었다. 마지막으로 편하게 얘기한 게 우산 쓰고 걷던 날이었다. 그날 이후로 아무 일도 없었는데.

정우가 다시 다가온 건 그 무렵이었다.

"이번 주말에 시간 어때요? 진짜 저녁 한번 하죠."

예전 같으면 웃으며 넘겼을 제안이었다. 그냥 동료끼리의 가벼운 약속이었고.

"…네, 좋아요."

은호는 별생각 없이 대답했다. 정말로, 별생각 없이.
